Golden, who left Tennessee to be closer to his ailing father, stands to be a big part of the Yellow Jackets’ backcourt.
"Great news for Trae and his family," Yellow Jackets coach Brian Gregory tweeted. "Thankful for NCAA support on waiver."
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Golden will see time at both guard spots. That’s good, because the 6-2 Golden can handle the ball, but he seems more interested in shooting the rock than sharing it. Golden’s shooting also needs work; he shot only 38 percent from the floor last season for the Vols, and 29.5 percent from 3-point range.
