January transfers are tough on the clubs. The selling club is desperately trying to hold onto their star so has to not hamper the ongoing season, the buying club doing all in their power to force the other club’s hand and get their man. These transfers are especially tricky as the player is expected to switch clubs and hit the ground running which does not always happen. Torres’s move to Chelsea and Sanchez’s move to Manchester United are prime examples, but never the less, a midseason shot in the arm is always a step in the right direction....

Either way, reports that Brazilian star Ronaldinho may be on the brink of a move to Liga MX outfit Queretaro are intriguing. “There are negotiations, but nothing has yet been sealed.” Queretaro sporting director Adolfo Rios told Televisa on Friday. “We’ll have to wait.” Rios confirmed Queretaro has sent someone to Brazil to help facilitate the deal, but urged caution. “It wouldn’t be the first time that the situation of looking (to sign) a player occurred and then for negotiations to fail due to external situations,” he added....

By studying the DNA of 30 transgender men and women who had been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, they found what they described as 21 “rare” variants in 19 genes, in pathways in the brain associated with the sex hormone estrogen. The pathways are thought to be important for shaping whether the brain is masucline or feminine. Before and after birth, the genes help to decide when estrogen is released, which contributes to masculinization of the brain, the researchers explained in their paper published in the journal Scientific Reports....

For most infants, reflux is mild and doesn’t need treatment. Simple strategies can help improve issues like spitting up and discomfort. LeCroy also died in the accident. Two other UGA members were inside the car, but escaped with minor injuries....
